“In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea, with a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me, as He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free, while God is marching on. Glory, glory, Hallelujah. His truth is marching on.” - The Battle Hymn of the Republic, by Julia Ward Howe, Slavery Abolitionist, 1861. #Juneteenth Psalm 82:3-4 “Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; uphold the rights of the afflicted and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; save them from the hand of the wicked.” California State Senate prayer before session on Memorial Day 1953. A very Biblical and Christ-centered prayer. Sadly, a prayer like this would never be heard in our State Senate or Assembly these days. #MemorialDay https://www.instagram.com/p/DXpc-UQEgJ4/ HAPPY RESURRECTION DAY! Good afternoon. It is Good Friday about 3pm. Today is called Good Friday because something very, very, very, good happened on this day centuries ago, culminating at about 3pm. Jesus, the son of God, suffered and died to pay the penalty we each owe to God for our rebellion against him. Because of “Good Friday,” we who ask God to forgive our sins through Jesus, and who follow His leadership, have all our sins forgiven, and will be with him now and forever. Have you done this? A blessing to be invited to speak at the Christ Community Church @ccc.now Men's Breakfast. It was a blessing to visit with some of California's Members of the U.S. House of Representatives in their offices across the street from the U.S. Capitol building in Washington DC. I know them and many others personally because more than half of California's 54 U.S. Congress Members used to serve in our State Capitol prior to being elected to U.S. Congress, as is common in states across the U.S.. As we reach out to help or pray for all in our state capitols, we are helping our future national leaders. HAPPY PRESIDENTS’ DAY, AKA WASHINGTON’S BIRTHDAY!
